Migration of Samuel STURKIE and Temperance Ann HILDEBRAND
1. Samuel STURKIE, was born 25 Jan 1809 in Orangeburgh District, SC, and died 07 Nov 1856 in Smith Station, Russell/Lee Co., AL. He married Temperance Ann HILDEBRAND 03 Mar 1832 in Orangeburgh District, SC, daughter of Jacob HILDEBRAND and Jemima LEONARD. She was born 30 Jun 1815 in Orangeburgh District, SC, and died after 1900 (possibly 17 Feb 1901) in Chambers County, AL. Samuel and Temperance Ann are buried in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, near Smiths Station, AL. Samuel and Temperance Ann moved from Orangeburgh to Smiths Station, AL after the 1840 federal census. Samuel's father, Daniel born about 1786 in Orangeburg, had already migrated to this area of AL about 1839.

c. Jacob S. P. STURKEY, born 20 Mar 1837 in Orangeburgh District, SC; died 14 Apr 1863 in Civil War. He married Julia FREEMAN 08 Jul 1858 in Russell County, AL; born about 1842 in Russell County, AL.
d. Drucilla M. E. STURKEY, born 02 Jul 1839 in Orangeburgh District, SC; died 14 Oct 1869 in Russell County, AL. She married John Blackstone POUNCEY 20 Apr 1855 in Russell County, AL; born about 1832 in AL; died 12 Oct 1894 in AL.
e. Martha Ann P. STURKEY, born 14 Nov 1842 in AL; died 1913 possibly in AL. She married Allen R. JONES 08 Jul 1858 in AL; born about 1838 in GA; died possibly in AL.
f. Calvin Jackson STURKEY, born 02 Jul 1845 in AL; died 02 Aug 1911 in Chambers County, AL. He married Margaret A. HARBUCK 03 Feb 1871 in Lee County, AL; born 1853 in AL; died after 1910 in AL.
g. Isaiah STURKEY, born about 1847 in AL; died before 1900.
