1. Michael HAMITER, born 1798 in Prince William's, Beaufort Co., South Carolina; died abt 1874 in Winston County, Mississippi, son of Nicholas HAMITER and Margaret SAWYER. He married Jemima [---], born in St. George Parish, Effingham Co., Georgia; died in Winston County, Mississippi.
Children of Michael HAMITER and Jemima [---] were as follows:
a. George W. HAMITER, born 1825 in Alabama; died in Meridian, Lauderdale Co., Mississippi.
b. Nancy HAMITER, born 1827 in Alabama.
c. Elizabeth HAMITER, born 1832 in Alabama.
d. William HAMITER, born 1833 in Alabama.
e. Mary HAMITER, born 1835 in Alabama.
f. Josiah HAMITER, born 1837 in Alabama.
g. David HAMITER, born 1838 in Alabama.
h. Pamela HAMITER, born 1840 in Mississippi.
i. Marithe HAMITER, born 1842 in Mississippi.
