Migration of William Barnett HEANER and Ellafare Mcgriff BOBO

1. William Barnett HEANER, son of Jacob HEANER and Rachel BOZARD, was born 13 Feb 1827 in Orangeburg, Orangeburg County, South Carolina, died 17 May 1881 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, and was buried in City Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. He married Ellafare Mcgriff BOBO., daughter of Green BOBO and Margaret SHULER. Ellafare was born 16 Jan 1830 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina, died 16 Oct 1892 in Leesville, Gonzales County, Texas, and was buried in Leesville Cemetery, Leesville, Gonzales County, Texas.

Notes for William Barnett HEANER: "He served in the infantry of the Confederacy where he contracted typhoid fever and was sent home. Shortly after the war he and his family went to Texas. With them was a group of relatives, including his brother-in-law, Independence Bobo whose wife was Mary Heaner and sister-in-law Barbara Bobo Shuler, Mollie Bobo Stroman, Sophronia Bobo Shuler Clayton, and their families and others. Landing in Indianola, Texas, they travelled by wagon train to Gonzales County. In the late 1870s William Barnett Heaner, his wife and daughter, Theodosia Ernest, moved to San Antonio and were charter members of the First Baptist Church there. He operated a boarding house on Austin Street, where he became ill with a stone in his bladder from which he died in surgery. (Miller, Lucille L., "History of Gonzales County, Texas")

"W.B. Heaner registered to vote in Gonzales County on 22 Nov 1869 stating that he had been a resident of Gonzales Co., and the Precinct for 23 months. He paid taxes in Gonzales Co. for the first time in 1870. His assessment was on 3 horses valued at $60 and miscellanous at $30. In 1871 his assessment was on 5 horses at $115, 6 hogs at $6 and miscellanous at $5. In 1873 his assessment was on 125 acres at $400..." He was born 1 Aug 1837 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina, died 11 Nov 1920 in Leesville, Gonzales County, Texas, and was buried in Leesville Cemetery, Leesville, Gonzales County, Texas.

b. Young Jacob Hayne HEANER was born 23 Apr 1853 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina, died 15 Sep 1932 in Guadalupe County, Texas, and was buried in Delaney Cemetery, Gonzales County, Texas. Young married (1) on 4 Jul 1874, Mary Jane DAVIS, born 20 Nov 1857, died 15 Sep 1879, buried in Gonzales County, Texas; (2) on 17 Nov 1880, Electa Albatine BECK, born 6 Feb 1864 in Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas, died 18 Oct 1925 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, was buried in Delaney Cemetery, Gonzales County, Texas; (3) on 7 Dec 1927 Mary Frances BECK, born in 1851 in Kentucky, died in 1936 in Texas, buried in Delaney Cemetery, Gonzales County, Texas.

c. Margaret A. HEANER was born 23 Dec 1854 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina, died 12 Apr 1931 in Gonzales County, Texas, and was buried in Leesville Cemetery, Leesville, Gonzales County, Texas. Margaret married on 23 Dec 1873 Lawrence August LOTT, born in Mar 1855 in Alabama.

d. Katherine Henrietta HEANER was born in 1858 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina, died in 1934 in Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas, and was buried in San Geronimo Cemetery, Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas. Katherine married Benjamin Stockton TERRELL. Benjamin was born 10 Jul 1842 in Colorado County, Texas, died 18 Mar 1928 in Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas, and was buried in San Geronimo Cemetery, Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas.

e. Earnest Theodosia HEANER was born 6 Aug 1861 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina and died 19 Oct 1934 in Del Rio, Val Verde County, Texas. Earnest married on 31 May 1882 in Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas, Jefferson Beauregard MOORE, born 15 Dec 1862 in Lake County, California, died 19 Jan 1937 in Del Rio, Val Verde County, Texas, buried in Masonic Cemetery, Val Verde County, Texas.
