Migration of Charles HUTTO and Margaret Susannah JETER and Elizabeth Walker GILMORE

1. Charles HUTTO, born abt 1790 in Orangeburgh, South Carolina; died bef 14 Dec 1854 in Pike County, Alabama, son of Henry HUTTO and Anne Katharine ZORN. He married (1) abt 1810 in South Carolina Margaret Susannah JETER, born in South Carolina; died bef 22 Nov 1848 in Pike County, Alabama, daughter of Joseph JETER and Mary [---]; (2) on 22 Nov 1848 in Pike County, Alabama Elizabeth Walker GILMORE, born in Pike County, Alabama.

Notes for Charles HUTTO: Move to Pike County, Alabama about 1838. One of the older sons was found dead in a fence corner. The 1850 census lists 5 children in the family; James, Martha, Mary, Morgan, Nancy A. (could be another Charles Hutto?) The Manning Papers were in error about this Charles Hutto; he did not marry Susie Gillam. Proof lies in probate record of Joseph Jeter 's estate, deed records in SC and AL, and the marriage license to Elizabeth Walker (Pike Co. AL GED Box 28), Deed Book I/J, pg. 349 and Barnwell Co. SC Deed Book AAA, pgs. 128-9. Charles Hutto died prior to 14 Dec. 1854, Pike Co. AL, when his probate was started. William McKerley, son-in-law, was Admstr. Charles Hutto and his wife, Susannah Hutto, sold their land to his brother, William Hutto, Sr., 22 Dec. 838, Barnwell Co. SC Deed Book AAA, pgs. 128-9 and moved to AL. Charles Hutto and Susannah Hutto recorded a deed in Pike Co., AL, 8 Oct 1846, Deed Book I/J, pg. 349.

Children of Charles HUTTO and Margaret Susannah JETER were as follows:

a. Elizabeth HUTTO, born 1815 in Barnwell, South Carolina. She married William M. MCKERLEY.

b. Rebecca HUTTO, born 1820 in South Carolina. She married John MITCHELL.

c. Susannah HUTTO, born 20 Feb 1823 in Barnwell County, South Carolina; died 26 Sep 1902 in Pike County, Alabama. She married on 7 Nov 1837 in Barnwell County, South Carolina Wilson W. DYCHES, born 21 Mar 1816; died 16 Mar 1879 in Pike County, Alabama, son of Seth DYCHES and Esther Benson DUKES.

d. Lavina HUTTO, born 16 Apr 1825 in South Carolina; died bef 1854. She married on 25 Jun 1843 in Pike County, Alabama William Seth DYCHES, born 13 Mar 1821 in South Carolina; buried in Dykes Bapt., Barbour Co., Alabama, son of Seth DYCHES and Esther Benson DUKES. Her children shared in the distribution of her father's estate.

e. James M. HUTTO, born 13 Feb 1834 in Barnwell, South Carolina; died 25 Dec 1915 in Pike County, Alabama. He married Carolina [---]).

f. Nancy A. HUTTO, born abt 1850 in Pike County, Alabama. 1850 Pike Co., AL census lists as 6 mos.
