Migration of Adam ULMER and Mary Margaret HORGER

1. Adam ULMER, born 1780 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died BET 1840 AND 1850 in Jasper County, Mississippi, son of George Adam ULMER. He married abt 1801 in Orangeburgh, South Carolina Mary Margaret HORGER, born 1774 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died aft 1850 in Jasper County, Mississippi, daughter of Jacob HORGER (JR) and Margaret Isabelle INABINET.

Notes for Adam ULMER: Move to Mississippi in 1812. Adam Ulmer was headed for the Oklahoma Gold Rush when the New Madrid earthquakes struck. He backtracked, taking boats up the Tennessee and down the Tombigbee Rivers to finally settle in the Mississippi Territory (later Perry County, MS).

Children of Adam ULMER and Mary Margaret HORGER were as follows:

a. David ULMER, born 1803 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died BET 1870 AND 1880 in Jasper County, Mississippi.. He married Mary LOVETT, born 1806 in South Carolina; died 9 May 1889 in Jasper County, Mississippi.

b. Daughter ULMER, born 1805 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina.

c. Franklin ULMER, born 13 Jun 1807 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died BET 1877 AND 1879 in Jasper County, Mississippi. He married Mary MILEY, born 1812 in South Carolina; died BET 1870 AND 1872 in Jasper County, Mississippi.

d. James T. ULMER, born abt 1809 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died abt 1849 in Jasper County, Mississippi.. He married in 1829 in Perry County, Mississippi Nancy T. GREEN, born 1810 in Johnson Co., North Carolina; died abt 1860 in Jasper County, Mississippi.

e. Mary ULMER, born 1810 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died in Perry County, Mississippi. She married Reuben HARTFIELD.

f. Rachel ULMER, born 18 Aug 1811 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 23 Aug 1905 in McHenry, Stone Co., Mississippi. She married William PIERCE, born 17 Jan 1810; died 16 Dec 1891 in McHenry, Stone Co., Mississippi.

g. Emma ULMER, born 1814 in Perry County, Mississippi; died 1880 in Jasper County, Mississippi. She married Jared Madison WINDHAM, born 1811 in Georgia; died bef 1870 in Jasper County, Mississippi.

h. Adam ULMER, born 1815 in Perry County, Mississippi; died 1868 in Perry County, Mississippi. Drowned in Whiskey Creek, Perry County, MS.

i. Son ULMER, born abt 1818 in Perry County, Mississippi; died bef 1850 in Mississippi.
