Orangeburgh District Migrations

Migration of Seaborn W. Buzbee and Rachel Sturkey

1. Seaborn W. BUZBEE, was born about 1810 in South Carolina and died after 1860, possibly in Attala County, Mississippi. He married Rachel STURKEY before 1845 in South Carolina. Rachel was born about 1815-1825 in Orangeburgh, South Carolina, and died after 1853 probably in Mississippi. Seaborn and Rachel migrated to Attala County, Mississippi after the birth of daughter Heziah/Nancy in South Carolina about 1848/49.

Children of Seaborn BUZBEE and Rachel STURKEY are:

a. William Jasper BUZBEE, born 09 Mar 1845 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina; died 26 May 1932 in St. Francis County, Arkansas. William Jasper is on the 1880 census for Beat 3, District 156, Panola, Mississippi, with his wife and 7 children.

b. Mary Elizabeth [Sarah?] BUZBEE, born about 1846 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina; died 09 Feb 1918. She married Thomas COMPTON.

c. Nancy [Heziah?] BUZBEE, born 23 Mar 1849 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina; died Sep 1929 in Tallahatchie, Mississippi. She married Elisha Patrick TURNER.

d. Frances R. BUZBEE, born about 1851 in Mississippi.

e. Jacob N. BUZBEE, born about 1853 in Mississippi.
