Migration of Abraham WIMBERLEY and Jane RUSSELL

1. Abraham WIMBERLEY, born 11 Aug 1794; died abt 1830, son of Abraham WIMBERLEY (SR) and Barbara LEBENDER. He married abt 1820 in Colleton Co., South Carolina Jane RUSSELL, born abt 1795 in Colleton Co., South Carolina; died abt 1841/42 in South Carolina, daughter of Jeremiah RUSSELL and Catharine Margaret ABERLY.

Notes for Jane RUSSELL: The daughter of Isaac O.J. Wiimberly told family members that Jane (Russell) Wimberly had deceased at the time her two sons left South Carolina to re-settle in Mississippi. Her father who was I.O.J. Wimberly, she states was 18 years old at the time he came to Mississippi, so the approximate death date for Jane (Russell) Wimberly is 1841-1842.

Children of Abraham WIMBERLEY and Jane RUSSELL were as follows:

a. Abraham WIMBERLY, born 24 Jan 1823 in South Carolina; died in Church Point, Louisiana.. He married (1) in Rankin County, Mississippi Elizabeth Jane KERSH, died 9 Aug 1865 in Ringgold, Louisiana, daughter of Jacob KERSH and Rachel EASTERLING; (2) in Louisiana Josephine Colligan RICHARD. Moved from South Carolina to Mississippi, settled in Rankin County and married Elizabeth Jane Kersh. They moved to Louisiana where Elizabeth Jane died in and where he remarried to Josepheine (Richard) Colligan.

b. Isaac O.J. WIMBERLY, born 19 Nov 1824 in South Carolina; died 1 Jul 1902 in Rankin County, Mississippi; buried in Shiloh Meth. Cem., Rankin Co., Mississippi. He married Mary Ann KERSH, born 8 Jan 1824 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 4 Feb 1896 in Rankin County, Mississippi; buried in Shiloh Meth. Cem., Rankin Co., Mississippi, daughter of Jacob KERSH and Rachel EASTERLING.

c. Susan Elizabeth WIMBERLY. She married Wright Daniel HUTTO.
